Strange Instruments I Love: Double Flageolet

My Papa is a flute player and sometimes collector of wind instruments. One I have long loved is the Double Flageolet. A British creature by birth, it first came onto this planet around 1800. Besides it’s really great name, it also makes a  super sound. Played, it produces the effect of two recorders at the same time. Sort of a wistful, far off trains sound that gets my heart.

A beautiful example:

A Fine Double Flagolet

Here Mickey kindly demonstrates while Elizabeth looks lovely in her turquoise dress.
